I was born in Toronto, Canada, and lived in Vancouver, B.C. until the age of eleven.
When I was very young, I would walk home from elementary school with a buddy of mine, Jon Dunn, through a forest near the University of British Columbia (UBC). I would spend a great deal of time marveling at nature, studying plants and flowers and eating handfuls of berries along the way.
My family knew that in order for me to be content, I would have to live in a world surrounded by flowers. I began arranging flowers for my friends' weddings, per their request, prior to receiving any formal training. I thank them for believing in me well before I even believed in myself. After graduating from the University of Oregon and spending more than a decade in commercial property management and nearly 20 years in customer service, I then broadened my education by enrolling in floral design school. I graduated from the Floral Design Institute of Portland and obtained my certificate in Basic Floral Design and later in Advanced Floral Design. I now hold an Oregon license from the Oregon Department of Agriculture in retail floristry.

For as long as I can remember, my grandfather called me 'Andy Pandy'. He and I shared a passion for gardening and flowers. In honor of my Grandpa Henry who has since passed away, I named my company after the nickname he had coined for me.
